In 2012, the new clean process of titanium dioxide production with thiamine titanium co production method developed by the company passed the scientific and technological achievements appraisal hosted by China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation and China Environmental Science Society in Beijing. The achievement achieved four breakthroughs:

1 The advanced treatment of titanium dioxide acidic wastewater by ultrafiltration, nanofiltration and reverse osmosis technology has overcome the problem of impurities blocking the osmosis membrane, reaching the world leading level of less than 50t of new water consumption per unit of titanium dioxide and less than 20T of sewage discharge per unit.

2. The imported acid high titanium slag and ilmenite mixed with raw materials that are difficult to use are used to reduce the waste slag discharge by 60%

3 Industrialization of continuous acid hydrolysis technology has been realized. The acid hydrolysis rate of titanium ore has been increased to more than 96%, and the utilization rate of titanium resources has been increased to more than 87% compared with 79% of traditional technology

4 Take the lead in the whole industry to produce ammonium sulfate products by replacing 98% of commercial acid with 20% of waste acid without concentration, and transform waste into resources by means of energy conservation and emission reduction, so as to realize the product chain coupling of circular economy. The project has applied for national patent.
